has it entered anyones mind to really read what minimus wrote here? does anyone besides me see that the title is a tad misleading? the woman said she 'doesn't want to think ABOUT IT'. she didn't say she didn't want to think. suppose you are talking to a pregnant woman and bring up the subject of painful labour panes ,,,, she might rightly say' i don't want to think about it'.

JW Admits She Doesn't Want To Think!
by minimus inone of my wife's best friends talked to her yesterday about "the truth".
she wanted to know if they could get together to "talk".
after some conversation, my wife asked her if she thought all the "prophecies" in the isaiah book seemed reasonable.

Has The Internet REALLY Hurt Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus inthe watchtower society tries to "demonize" the internet.

i don't agree that inadvertently some JWs will be led astray by other JWs checking the net. only time will tell but i'm sure the only ones searching these sites are ones on the fringes anyway.
your other point that JWs have been here defending JWs and are now exjws only tells me that they weren't true JWs to start with or they wouldn't have been here in the first place.
if Simon started out this site as a JW, maybe he could shed some light on the topic.

i have no intention of getting in a peeing contest with you about my personal beliefs. why are you so hung up on what someone else believes? the topic here is about whether the net will hurt the witnesses, not what someone's religious affiliation is.
BluesBrother:
you DID have issues before you started searching the net, which IS my point.

your words "that firm belief is commendable". now you twist it around to make it look like i think it was ok to hijack a plane and fly it into the WTC. get real!!!!

the basic 'inborn need' that man has is to 'call on' a higher power. certainly while a firm belief is commendable, not all attain this. a study of the scriptures may be helpful as a means of gaining a firm belief. as i stated in post 21 sometimes i take a certain side 'for the sake of arguement' so what my true beliefs are is totally irrelevent here. i still say a JW who is swayed by searching the net was ready to leave anyway.

you will have to explain a lot harder. where in anything i've posted here did i say what my beliefs are. as i said before, you assume too much! curiosity does not equal a certain belief IMHO.

i am not offended at all. your questioning my 'logical fallacy' is a bit disconserting as i still hold what i said there. how does anything i said there seem different than what i'm saying now?

jgnat: feel free to believe anything you want.
Nosferatu: my point was that one with doubts about their belief would likely leave the JWs anyway whether they expose themselves to the internet or not. you obviously aren't in this group as you had left before searching the net. happy searching!!!

not knowing my position or belief you may be assuming too much. while i may defend a certain belief, for argument sake, you don't know what i believe. my position still is that true believers will not be found questioning their faith on the net.
